We love all fishies, but some of them we love more than others...Here are our favorite marine animals to see while diving in Nusa Penida! (in no particular order so none of them feel jealous).
Manta Ray
We are so lucky to have a resident manta ray population around Nusa Penida, and Manta Point is always a dive that everyone enjoys! On a good day you will see several mantas swimming around or being cleaned, and it is a wonderful sight every single time!
Mola Mola
Also known as oceanic sunfish, this is one of the weirdest looking fish in the ocean for sure! They can be seen all year round, but the best season is from July to October where the waters around Nusa Penida get cooler and they tend to come up shallower.
Turtles
Everyone's favourite, turtles can be seen everywhere around Nusa Penida and Nusa Lembongan. You might see them relaxing at the surface or munching on corals at the bottom!
Sharks
Although sharks are not widely common around Nusa Penida, with a bit of luck you might get to see one! Amongst the species we see you could spot black tip and white tip reef sharks, bamboo shark, nurse shark, even the odd whale shark or hammerhead once in a while!
Nudibranchs
Did we tell you already how much we love nudibranchs? These little colourful animals can be found everywhere on the reefs of Nusa Lembongan and Nusa Penida, and they are alway a treat!
