Nusa Penida, with its stunning cliffs, crystal-clear waters, and laid-back vibe, is a paradise for those seeking escape. The island is more renowned for its natural beauty than its shopping scene. However, you can still find a few and far between spots to pick up souvenirs and essentials. Don't come for the shopping but if you are stuck, here are a few places to look.

Minimarts for basic foodstuffs
In Sampalan, Toyapakeh and Ped you will find decent-sized shops - dare I call them minimarts- that sell all the basics you might need: water, sunscreen, toiletries, biscuits, instant noodles, water (including 5l), drinks and beers etc.
Minishops/ warungs everywhere
Scattered across the island you will find tiny shops which will sell water, cigarettes, beer, biscuits, crisps and soft drinks. Sometimes they may even sell petrol in front too. They are pretty ubiquitous but have a small range of things, more often than not they will have cold drinks which are always welcome.
Alcohol
There are a few alcohol shops in the main tourist spots in Sampalan, Toyapakeh and Ped. Do not expect a great selection. They'll have a few different (mostly not amazing) wines, some cheap vodka and rhum and perhaps a few other options if you're lucky on a good day. If you want fancy imported booze, bring it from Bali.
Clothes shops
There are a few clothes shops in the main village of Sampalan. They will sell super basic and usually not great quality clothes though you may always find a gem. Some sell some quite nice traditional Balinese ceremonial outfits if you are after one of them. The clothes are very affordable so if you are stuck for a clean T-shirt or knickers this is a good bet. You'll also find a couple of shops in the harbour in Toyapakeh.
Trendy stuff
There is a smattering of trendy and expensive clothes shops along the north coast. An Angel billabong shop just outside Toyapakeh and other similar surf-style outlets in Ped and Sampalan. Expect the cool surf brand prices.
Souvenirs
A few shops have opened in Sampalan and many restaurants and warungs have a small selection like secret penida or penida colada. If you type shopping Nusa Penida in Google, you will find a handful of options scattered around the island but this is not the best place to buy souvenirs except for the handmade fabric the local women make and the wonderful homemade coconut oil soaps.
Western, organic/gluten-free/vegan food and natural toiletries
If you are allergic or vegan, Penida Pantry has a small selection of top-quality natural toiletries, bamboo toothbrushes and many vegan / gluten-free food options.

Conclusion: Do your shopping elsewhere!
Nusa Penida is a place to get lost in natural beauty not going shopping. Bali has plenty to offer in that department and you can wander the streets of Ubud for beautifully crafted souvenirs or local designer wear. All around South Bali, you will find huge malls with all the big brands you can imagine. Get your new swimsuit and Penis shaped bottle openers (a must-have souvenir) in Bali and come to Nusa Penida to immerse yourself in its wonderful natural views and places, incredible manta ray dives and simple laid-back village life.
