Nusa Penida is not famous for its nightlife but as the island develops at lightning speed more and more cool nightlife venues are opening.
Here is a list of our favourite spots. Please be aware that things are changing so fast that new places may have opened by the time this is online. We will try and update our list as often as possible.

Best sunset spots
Many places have great views but these three little beauties are a little off the beaten track offering a haven of peace and beauty after an exciting day on Penida's busy dusty roads. These venues are quiet and do not offer bands or DJs in the evening. Great places for a chilled chat. All of these also have wonderful food.
Maua. The restaurant to the luxury hotel of the same name offers a 360 view of all the volcanoes and a relaxed high-end atmosphere. Cocktails are affordable yet top quality and the ambience is serene and hushed. Food options are top-notch and reasonably priced for the quality—the perfect place to enjoy each other's company and the breathtaking view.
Sibarita. This small bamboo venue sits right on the beach away from the noisy road. You can glimpse the sun setting to your right whilst enjoying authentic and exciting bespoke cocktails. There are no live bands or loud music here but hushed tunes, a floor made of sand and a sea breeze. Food options range from Ceviche to steak to Tortilla (homemade and delicious). A wonderful place to unwind and enjoy the ocean.
Eden. Perched high up on a hill, this new high-end hotel boasts an incredible 360 view of Penida, the sea and the volcanoes. Good quality cocktails, a chilled ambience and an original menu of 'tartines' make this place a hidden gem away from the maddening crowds.
Best live music
Most venues in Nusa Penida may offer live music. Here is a selection of three that have good bands and a nice atmosphere to boot.
Penida Colada. An unmissable venue. As the first foreign fare venue in Nusa Penida, Penida Colada has evolved over the years to become a must-try restaurant on the island. Great live music, sometimes with dancing, delicious cocktails with a happy hour price to die for and a healthy and varied venue mean this place stays in the top list of eateries and nightlife venues in Penida.
Aguan. This small venue in Ped has a great atmosphere, super cheap arak cocktails and fun live bands on most nights. A great choice for smaller budgets and for meeting locals.
Penida Minang. Right on the beach with a great atmosphere, Penida Minang is cheap and cheerful and always a lot of fun. Expect action every night!
Best beach clubs
Want to chill out on a lounger for the day and perfect that tan then perhaps have a cocktail or boogie, check these beach clubs out.
Nome Beach. Nome offers a beautiful chilled beachside venue. Look up their Instagram for events. They sometimes have DJs or bands. Expect chilled vibes and a beautiful setting.
Cactus Beach Club. A bit out of the way, Catctus Beach Club is a mostly cemented venue that has great cocktails and a dance floor. Look up their Instagram for events and music.
Best nightlife venues in Nusa Penida with DJs and dancing
If you want to let your hair down and get your groove on for real, check these three venues out. They offer very different styles but expect a great crowd and some action at all three.
The Penida Project. Definitely one of the happening places on Penida. With its laid-back fun atmosphere, this place will delight party heads. With live DJ sets every Wednesday and Saturday night, it’s the only place you can party until 1 am on the island. Plus when there is no dancing, there are games, nightly activities and some of the best Napoli-style pizzas! Their new Vegan pizza is life-changing. Check this place out to come home with plenty of new friends and fond memories but perhaps wake up with a hangover.
Amok Sunset. Higher end than the Penida Project, Amok also boasts fun DJ nights and good vibes. Also a top sunset point with a good food menu. Expect action, a fashionable crowd and high-end prices.
ESA -G. The party venue on Penida with its DJs and foam parties. Huge place right on the beach, expect a crazy party and a pretty mash-up crowd!
